By Martina Kilgo
I bought this sound bar for our bedroom TV. The sound quality is decent for a product in this price class. However, don't expect any sound close to a Bose system :) it is too bad that this device doesn't have any digital connections. RC is the only option offered.
This system works well enough to enhance the sound of my bedroom TV; however I would not buy it as my main system in the living room.
The included remote control is a minor disaster. If it is not held in an exact angle to the receiver in the bar, it will simply not work. This is disappointing and annoying. I had a cheap RCA system in my bedroom before, which unfortunately fell victim to a lightning during a bad thunderstorm a couple of months ago. I had bought this RCA system a couple of years ago for half the price of the Coby soundbar and until its demise I never had problems with the remote control of this "cheapy."
The big advantage of the Coby sound bar is the wireless subwoofer. The fact that no wiring is necessary was the decisive point for me to buy this system. It lets me enjoy decent sound without having to wire up my bedroom.
If the manufacturer would improve the remote control function he would certainly add value to this product.
Because of the mentioned limitations the Coby soundbar is a neat little system for a kid's room, bedroom, or guest room. However, it is far away from being able to measure up with "Big League" devices manufactured by Panasonic, Sony and their competitors. Bose doesn't even have to be mentioned in the same breath as this little toy.
Overall I am not disappointed with the purchase of this product. "You get what you pay for" is one of my strong believes and I did get what I expected and not more.
The reason I decided to give a 3-star rating only is the really inferior quality of the soundbar's remote control.

By Keith
This product delivered OK sound, I have 2 other sound bars and they are much better. Just stopped working afer 4 months. Called customer service and was rudely told sorry, but too bad. Should have spent the extra $100 and get a good name. Live and learn

By SeaGator
Like another reviewer's issue, mine was the same with it cutting out. Easy to hook up and it is well suited for a medium to large master bedroom. Played good the first time for about an hour and a half, then shut down. After that each time you turn it on it cuts off within five minutes.
Here is where I come from, I enjoy quality sound such as my Bose car sysytem and my 7.1 Harman Kardon receiver with Boston Acoustics speakers in a large family room. Both awesome! Also have many other music systems including a boat.
When deciding to buy this Coby sound bar, I was looking for a cheap solution for the master bedroom because my wife didn't want me to spend much for a bedroom TV (32" LED) system. Coby is that brand you find in department stores that really don't have electronic departments but need to offer electronic gizmos to round out their stock. So I wasn't expecting much but I did expect it to work.
BOTTOM LINE:
Good - Very easy set up; OK sound considering the low price; Amazon returns are easy within the 30 day window.
Bad - Low grade plastic cabinet and skinny; flimsy wires; by far the cheapest remote control I have ever had on anything. Coby warranty states you pay the shipping both to and from their facility and wait a few weeks. For low end electronics it is not worth the expense so after the 30 day Amazon window you're out of luck and consider it disposable.
I ended up returning it and purchasing the Boston Acoustics Tvee 25 with wireless subwoofer. It learns your current TV remote and it's a BA.
