By Art Lover
I just bought this VSB207 at Sam's Club for a great price. There is one audio cable in the box: red and white RCA connectors at one end and a 3.5 connector at the other end. After I plugged in the connections I had some humming to begin with until I stopped it by resecuring all connections tightly AND moving the power cord around until the humming stopped. I'm giving it 5 stars because: 1) it works perfectly in a small bedroom, 2) has a low profile which fits nicely next to my 26" LED TV without blocking the TV sensors, 3) it is simple to set up, 4) it has a connection to add a powered sub woofer, and 5) it is inexpensive without being "cheap." I would not buy this sound bar expecting to be blown away by the sound. This unit clarifies/amplifies speech and ambient noise in movies and TV shows. It does not come with a manual. I don't believe one is needed since it's such a simple unit. Instead, it does come with a quick start guide with several pages illustrating its few connections and features. Of note, I did not see where the guide said "plug the the 3.5 connector into the TV headphone jack." I did that intuitively and used the RCA connections on the back of the sound bar. Once I set up the unit using the sound bar remote to turn on SRS WOW HD (very nice sound boost) and to establish the input location - #1 input for the sound bar RCA connections, I no longer needed the remote to control the sound volume. I can use my TV remote to change channels AND control sound volume. There is a #2 input on this unit which is a 3.5 jack, presumably to allow a "reverse" connection if your TV does not have a headphone jack but does have RCA connectors. Long story short - since flat panel TVs no longer come with decent speakers, something else has to boost sound quality. That's what this sound bar does without breaking the bank.

By Lasrever
I live in an apartment, and this is used in my bedroom. For the money, this product is outstanding. It is exactly what I was looking for. The simulated surround sound really gives the impression that there are speakers to the sides, and the sound output is definitely loud enough to wake the neighbors. If you live in a house, spend the money on a 7.1 surround sound, but if you have a bedroom or small living room with a TV that needs a little better sound output, this is for you.

By Steven Rossellini
I really wasn't in the market for a sound bar, but there it was on the "open-box" table at Tarjay. All the parts appeared to be there, except for RCA cables. For the low price, less than half of MSRP, I bought it, thinking that if it didn't work or the sound was awful, I'd return it immediately. I connected it to my kitchen's 24" HDTV, which has awful audio, and was very pleased. All that was missing was bass response. Fortunately, I have a small powered subwoofer that mates well with the Vizio sound bar.
